Estate Planning

We believe having your Estate Planning up to date is essential for everyone. It gives you and your loved ones peace of mind. Being organised saves yourself and your family time, money and great distress during already upsetting times – particularly if they are unexpected.

What is Estate Planning? It is a combination of things you can organise while you are alive and able to make important decisions:

  • Wills – you decide who looks after minor children (the Guardian), who will administer your Estate (Executor) and who will receive your assets (beneficiaries)
  • Enduring Power of Attorney – you decide who will look after your bank accounts, shares, property, pay bills etc if you lose capacity
  • Enduring Power of Guardianship – you decide who will make medical treatment and lifestyle decisions for you if lose capacity
  • Advance Health Directive – you decide if you want to be resuscitated or kept alive when there is no hope of recovery
  • Superannuation – review your nominations in light of your overall estate plans

Deceased Estates

Our sincere condolences for your loss.

If your loved one left a Will, we can tell you if you need to apply for Probate, and assist you with the process. This gives you the ability to administer the Estate and deal with banks, superannuation companies, shares, property, etc.

If there was no Will, we can assist with an application for Letters of Administration. This is a more complicated situation, so we highly recommend you gain legal advice first.

There are many potential complications with deceased estates – please don’t hesitate to contact us to ask questions. We can discuss your circumstances over the phone and let you know some essential information.

We are also happy to provide you with Executor Assistance at any time.
